Issey, St
The church of St. Issey, entirely rebuilt in 1871, is an edifice of stone in the Gothic style, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch and an embattled western tower, with pinnacles, containing 5 bells: the cost of restoration was £3,000, inclusive of new organ: in 1883, the chancel was re-decorated and painted at a cost of £100; there are sittings for 232 persons. The register of baptisms and marriages dates from the year 1596; burials, 1602.
