Lannarth (Lanner)

Formed December 3, 1844 from the Parish of Gwennap.

Christ church, consecrated on St Swithin's day, 1845, is a small plain stuccoed building of stone, consisting of chancel, nave, south aisle, vestry, north porch and a western turret containing one bell: the east window is a memorial to Thomas Ansrew, and was given by his widow: in 1889 the church was restored and a new aisle erected: in 1890 the ceiling was renewed, at a cost of £70: there are 200 sittings. The register of baptisms and marriages dates from the year 1845, burials, 1846.
