Parish Church of:

Martin in Meneage, St

In this parish was formerly a nunnery, called “Helnowith”, dedicated to St. Martin of Tours, and from this the parish took its name. The church of St Martin, rebuilt (with the exception of the tower) in 1830, is a plain rectangular building of stone in the Perpendicular style with an embattled western tower of granite, surmounted by pinnacles, and containing one bell, cast in 1826; there are 220 sittings. The register dates form the year 1571
